Automotive Black Technology Chapter 745: : The pain of heavy fire trucks!

Cheng Gang has formally submitted a request for the research and development of fire trucks to Li Fanyu and Zhengxin. But this R&D request does not represent the Tiancheng City Government.

The 4.2 Tiancheng fire has attracted great attention from the province. Putting aside man-made disasters, the equipment problems exposed in high-rise building fires are undoubtedly an important issue before leaders.

It can be said that if the height of the ladder was high enough on the night of 4.2, it would have brought about completely different results for the fire; first of all, if the height of the ladder was high enough, it would have been possible to climb from the fifth or sixth floor window in the early stages of the fire's spread. Evacuate the people directly, without having to go through all the trouble of borrowing helicopters to move them from the roof of the building at the end.

Secondly, there is no need for firefighters to risk their lives when entering the complex for the second time from the fourth floor that has been engulfed in fire. If the height of the ladder is sufficient, firefighters can be deployed on the seventh or eighth floor in advance to prevent the fire from spreading too quickly.

It can be said that the incompetence of the ladder truck that night was the direct cause of the sacrifice of seven firefighters!

Not just the 4.2 fire incident, the current heavy reliance on imports of fire trucks used by domestic fire departments has attracted the attention of senior leaders.

What does dependence on imports mean?

The first thing that bears the brunt is that the price is too high!

Fire trucks can be divided into quite a few types according to different disaster relief divisions and environments, and can be classified according to different standards. Classified by function, it can be divided into water tank fire trucks, dry powder fire trucks, foam fire trucks, carbon dioxide fire trucks, foam dry powder combined fire trucks, elevated fire trucks, ladder fire trucks, elevated platform fire trucks, and elevated jet fire trucks. , lighting fire trucks, smoke exhaust fire trucks, water supply fire trucks, and more than 20 categories!

However, there are so many categories of fire trucks. In fact, if we ignore the differences in upper equipment and divide them according to vehicle levels, there are actually only three types: light, medium and heavy.

Light fire trucks and medium fire trucks actually play little role in fires. They are used for command, survey, publicity, lighting and smoke exhaust, and some small ladders for lifting heights.

These two categories can be produced by two domestic car companies, Dongfeng and Yiqi.

At present, China is really heavily dependent on imports, which is the category with the highest technical content, important role in the fire rescue process, and the most expensive category - heavy fire trucks!

Heavy fire trucks actually refer to fire trucks with a chassis carrying capacity of more than eight tons, including heavy water tanks, foam and dry powder combinations, as well as aerial platforms, ladders and elevated fire trucks.

How much does it cost to import one of these cars?

Take the 36-meter ladder truck mounted on the Mercedes-Benz chassis currently used by Tiancheng, Germany's Manson Clay; the entire vehicle was delivered to the fire brigade for 3.3 million!

Is this thing expensive?

No! The Mercedes-Benz Actros traction chassis used in the chassis costs about 1 million, and the hydraulic telescopic ladder upper and control system cost 800,000 in total.

Excluding the kickbacks given by the purchasing leaders for overseas inspections, the rest is almost all profits!

The after-sales maintenance of these import companies generally involves setting up offices in some of the larger provincial capital cities in China. The number of after-sales maintenance personnel and engineering teams is sparse. If there is a problem with the product, maintenance will not only require a long work cycle, but also the process is quite cumbersome.

However, since they are expensive and troublesome, why are domestic fire departments rushing to buy imported fire trucks?

It’s not because procurement leaders can take the opportunity to go abroad for inspections and receive kickbacks. It's because when a fire breaks out, these heavy-duty fire trucks shoulder a huge mission and must deploy and respond quickly in a limited time and harsh environment.

As a result, there are very high requirements for the chassis stability of the fire truck, the reliability of the upper equipment and the accuracy of the control system.

Although there are disadvantages of one kind or another, it has to be denied that foreign brands currently have more advantages in high-tech special fire trucks. However, local brands like Dongfeng Yiqi are currently limited to the field of conventional fire trucks.

The huge demand has created the current market status of fire protection machinery and equipment. But the more realistic situation is that due to the expensive price and unreasonable after-sales service of imported heavy fire trucks, the equipment gap of my country's heavy fire trucks is still huge!

The urban area of Tiancheng City is 8,500 square kilometers and has a population of more than 2 million. For such an area and such a population, there are only one 24-meter and one 36-meter fire ladder truck.

To put it bluntly, if a fire breaks out in two high-rise buildings at the same time, the city fire squadron will be faced with the embarrassing situation of having no vehicles available at the fire point.

The seriousness of the problem is evident.

But in fact, the loss in the April 2 fire was only more than 100 million. Such a fire was not a turning point for senior leaders to face up to this problem.

To put it more appropriately, this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Before the catastrophic fire on April 2, there were not many accidents caused by the lack of special fire-fighting equipment.

Not to mention far away, in just five years since 2012, due to the lack of fire ladder trucks, climbing platforms, and high-altitude spray fire trucks, there have been many uncontrollable fire situations in China;

In the Xinjiang Commercial Building fire in Pingcheng on April 30, 2012, the trapped people jumped from the sixth floor of the building to survive because the fire ladder was not high enough, resulting in the tragedy of fifteen deaths.

On June 12, 2013, a senior executive of Xincheng Anyang broke his arm while raising a jet fire truck, resulting in the death of two onlookers and serious injuries to four others. The tragedy is still vivid in our minds.

On August 15, 2014, a warehouse of an express delivery company caught fire in Teng'an County on November 11, causing people to be trapped in nearby residential buildings. Because the climbing platform could not reach the top of the special-shaped residential building, 53 residents were trapped in the thick smoke for more than three hours. Firefighters The scene of crying across the fire is still mentioned by the media from time to time!

And there are many, many such depressing examples.

Now, the reverberation of the alarm bell of the 4.2 Tiancheng fire is still deafening, and the souls of the seven firefighters who died are still alive. It can be said that it is time to change!

The commotion Li Fanyu made in the past two days made the leaders realize that Tiancheng was not just a city where a fire had just occurred.

This is also a city with an advanced automobile industry!

As a result, a research and development plan was determined and handed over to Li Fanyu through Cheng Gang.

This plan actually just requires Zhengxin to develop and design a ladder fire truck that can carry a ladder of more than 50 meters.

But Li Fanyu sensed considerable business opportunities here.

When he received the R&D application, his first thought was that he should do something for the fire fighters.

Firefighting and disaster relief work is a battlefield without guns. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have real battlefield brutality! Among the ranks of our country’s armed police, those who sacrifice the most and the most frequently in peacetime are the firefighters and armed police soldiers!

Having been in fire scenes all year round, it is no exaggeration to say that fire-fighting equipment and machinery are their guns and their armored vehicles.

It can be said that the fire ladder project is no less weighty than the fourth-generation tank in Li Fanyu's mind.

But on the other hand, he also smelled money through this incident!

Heavy fire truck,

It’s just a truck chassis with various tops!

The added value of the product... is simply too high!
