A Professor of Magic at Hogwarts: The end of the text testimonials + special arrangement
New URL: Talk to everyone about this book.
From April 6 last year to June 5 yesterday, I wrote for almost a year and two months, with a total of 2.35 million words, which was much higher than my own estimate (expectation) of 2 million to 2.2 million words. When I start writing extra stories, the number of words will be more.
Comments cannot be displayed on the starting point these days, but the author can see them from the background. I just went through everyone's messages, and first answered a few questions that may be of more concern-why did the story stop here? How is the emotional scene arranged (yes, there is it again)? And extra?
In fact, the story does not stop, but the text ends here. My personal understanding is that the main text is continuous in time and the plot is coherent, and the extra episode can jump out of time and choose some representative and meaningful things to write.
The last few chapters are the climax of the book, and the rest of the writing is nothing more than the daily life after returning to calm, political intrigue, and various details of the establishment of a new order. As for the substantive changes brought about by the fusion of the magic world and the non-magic world, it will take time to ferment. If you move forward bit by bit according to the timeline, it is not impossible to write, but it will slow down the overall rhythm of the story, and it will appear lengthy and boring. 'Boring' is something I have always tried to avoid, even the daily plots, I have written as interesting as possible, put a lot of thought into it, and these daily routines have a clear purpose, such as showing the main character from another perspective What he did, the ambush pen, the magic of showing the charm and magic of the characters...
At the end of writing the book, I most want to write the ending of the story well. It stops abruptly at the climax, leaving an aftertaste. Fill it in, some will be mentioned briefly, and some will be described in detail.
The second and third questions can be put together. Regarding the emotional drama, I thought about it again and again, and finally decided to put it in a separate extra chapter, so that readers who don't like it can skip it. The plot time is tentatively set five years after the end of the main text (in 2003). This time point has a special meaning, and it is about the beginning of the budding relationship between the two.
In fact, it is a bit similar to the last part of the original book - "Nineteen Years After the End". This is compared with a set of interrelated episodes that follow.
There may be more than a dozen articles describing the appearance of the future magic interface. My current idea is to learn from Quanyou’s pov writing method, that is, each chapter uses a different person’s name as the title and the main narrative perspective, from his current situation and social relations. , Show various changes in the future magic world in what you are doing, and you will naturally intersect with other people, so the perspective is constantly changing, and finally choose a suitable occasion to bring these people together.
The above is the consideration of the extra episode. If there is no accident, starting from June 11 (next Saturday), a chapter will be updated every day. The five days in the middle are the margin left by the author for himself to rest, conceive the plot, and deal with the things accumulated for a long time.
Okay, now that the business is over, let's talk about your impressions.
First of all, I would like to thank the new leaders of this book—euru, Chen Yi sain, Hei Mengyou, momus, and thank you all for your support. Together, there are a total of nineteen alliance leaders in this book, including two silver alliance leaders. I took a look, and the book has accumulatively received 200,000 collections, 300,000 recommendation votes, and 10,000 monthly tickets (I think it's far more than that, but I can't find the exact number), and it has been tweeted on the big page, high-quality goods, and subscribed 10,000 times. Glory one-star works, often appear on the first page of the classification list during serialization...
It is no exaggeration to say that this is a complete miracle to me.
On the day I uploaded the first chapter, I made a pessimistic prediction (judging from past experience) that this book has a high probability of dying—I published the book with enthusiasm, and then no one cares about it, I play a stand-alone machine, and the number of words is enough to apply The contract was rejected, coupled with the pressure of various trivial matters, and finally nothing happened. From college to a few years after graduation, I wrote six or seven beginnings one after another, and I am very familiar with this process. But I can’t help it, I can’t control my enthusiasm... Now I can have such excellent results, I can’t do without everyone’s support, thank you very much!
I love you guys! ! !
Hey, let’s talk about the mental journey of writing.
This book is very difficult to write, and the more difficult it is to get to the end, but the difficulty lies in how to better present the story, not because of the psychological burnout caused by continuous writing. I like this story very much from the beginning to the end. I love this story and poured my heart and soul into it.
I believe that no matter who it is, after devoting thousands of hours to one thing, they all hope that it will end perfectly and give the characters in the story a good ending.
I posted a post on April 26 last year, which mentioned three key words about the writing style of this book: reasonable direction, original style, and foreshadowing flow. At that time, the book was less than a month old, and it was mainly based on my intuition that this was the best way to write. I didn't expect how many challenges it would bring me later. Of course, after more than 700 chapters, I did try my best to move towards these The goal is to work hard, and I feel that I have not violated the original intention of publishing the book at the beginning-to write a magic story that is as authentic as possible.
In order to achieve this goal, I gradually set limits for myself in the writing process, such as trying not to add new characters, but to explore the charm and more possibilities of the original characters; There are traces to follow in the reference materials; the perspective is mainly on the school and students;
Some foreshadowings came from a flash of inspiration when I was writing, and I thought it might be useful, so I just mentioned them casually, usually hidden in the dialogue or a certain detail; there are also events that need time to ferment and turn, my impression The deeper one is Hermione's..., from her idea, to Harry and Ron's reaction, Felix's guidance, writing papers, talking to kitchen house elves, comparing the treatment of Ilvermorny goblins, establishing The ideal of being the Minister of Magic, and the last of the Pan-Magical Union. I went through a lot of chapters in the middle, and I didn't have a comprehensive idea from the beginning, but I found out that it can be integrated together.
The consequence of paying attention to details and laying down pens is that the more you get to the middle and late stages of the book, the longer you spend thinking about the plot, which is much more than the time you spend typing. This is actually my deepest feeling after writing a complete story. The chapters readers see are the results of the author's repeated weighing and thinking. the best. This point is more obvious in the plot of the seventh grade. In order not to fall into various moral dilemmas, the author racked his brains and denied many assumptions.
The effects of the above restrictions are not necessarily positive, they can be problems in themselves. But at least it helped me write to the end smoothly, without writing crashes, and without going off topic. I am already very satisfied with such a result~IndoMTL.com~ What's more, it can help subsequent writing by summarizing gains and losses.
And what to write in the new book, uh, I haven't thought about this issue yet, and I plan to think about it seriously during the time of writing the extra episode.
Finally, I would like to thank every reader for their support and follow along the way. Thank you for your subscriptions, rewards, comments, monthly tickets, recommendation tickets, easter egg chapters... and for the footprints you left on this book In addition, I would like to thank my three editors Xiaoyuan, Otter, Lucky, and editor-in-chief Mung Dou for their attention and support for this book; I would like to thank the operation officer Lazy Fat for his dedication in the late stage of cancer; thank the book friend group The many managers of the book have maintained the order of the group under my perennial diving; thanks to all the big fan and painting masters for enriching the connotation and extension of this book; thanks to the original author Rowling for providing a good story, I learned a lot of writing skills from it of...
It’s almost over here. When the editor goes to work tomorrow, I’ll ask about investing in this book. I think I’ve seen it from some group. It seems that the last step requires the author to finish the book. Then we will meet again on June 11th! The time is just right, the author is going to drink beer and eat skewers!
On June 5, 2022, Han Yousi.
