A Professor of Magic at Hogwarts Chapter 562: Suspicious Snape
After Christmas, life in Blake's old house is inevitably boring.
Harry, Ron and Ginny were doing their homework at the dining table, and Kreacher would serve a pot of steaming tea every half hour.
"Thank you, I can't drink anymore." Ron blushed, and he stooped and ran upstairs to the toilet shortly thereafter. Ginny looked disgusted.
She picked up the teapot pretendingly, poured herself a cup of tea delicately, handed it to her mouth, took a sip very ladylikely, then put the cup gently on the dining table, and looked up to find that Harry was wrinkling As she pondered over her Potions paper, she immediately turned the pages angrily and loudly.
Ron is back.
"Snape is still in the study," he said curtly.
Harry knew what he meant. Snape came here on the second day of Christmas. He appeared at the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix for three consecutive days at a time when members of the Order of the Phoenix were still busy.
"On the bright side, maybe he's just coveting the Black family's library," said Ron.
"I saw him last night," Ginny squealed, and Harry and Ron turned their heads immediately. "I wanted to go to the kitchen to find water to drink, but I saw him sliding down the stairs like a ghost, without a sound..."
Harry and Ron looked at each other, which made it even more suspicious.
"Is he looking for something?"
"Maybe they want to break the protective magic of the Order of the Phoenix!"
"Don't be stupid, the Loyalty Curse has been cast here, no one can force Dumbledore to tell the secret!"
"Why don't you write to Hermione, she knows a lot of unpopular magic." Ginny suggested eagerly.
"Good idea."
For the next few days, Harry and Ron discussed what Snape was going to do while anxiously awaiting Hermione's reply. It took them nearly a week to realize that Black's old house was protected by layers of magic, and Hedwig couldn't find it at all.
Harry went out for a stroll during lunch time, and brought back Hedwig who had been wandering around Grimmauld Place for several days. Hedwig angrily pecked at Harry's ears and fingers. Harry kept apologizing, and when he had vented enough, he threw a bulging envelope on Harry's forehead.
Hermione's letter is very long:
“My parents and I went to Switzerland. The environment here is very peaceful and there is no atmosphere of war. I persuaded them to stay here for a year or so, but they firmly disagreed and forced me to write an article every week. Letter!
I taught them how to order the "Daily Prophet" and "A New Explanation of the Runes". Although they couldn't understand the latter, they could find my name on it. They were also interested in The Quibbler, but luckily I stopped them just in time, because I didn't want them to ask me what a goblin pie was in their letter.
I do know some methods for your problem, but I'm not sure if it will work for Professor Snape. I recommend a method used by Muggles, which I got inspiration from a detective book my dad was reading recently. The specific method is to put strands of hair in the gaps between the books. It will fall... other methods are attached at the end..."
"What do you think?" Harry asked Ron and Ginny, putting down the letter.
"Use that Muggle method!" Ron and Ginny said in unison, Harry didn't object, obviously, he didn't have much confidence in his ability to hide this from Snape.
Two evenings before school started, Harry went upstairs to ask Sirius to come down for dinner. At the fifth-floor stairway, Harry saw Sirius leaning against the doorframe, and he was about to say hello, only to find that Sirius was not looking at him, but lazily fiddling with his wand, talking to someone in the room.
As Harry took a few steps closer, the voice became clear.
Sirius' tone was very unfriendly, "Tell me, how did you appear in my room?"
Who is he talking to? As soon as this question came to Harry's mind, he knew the answer in the next second. A slow voice said, "Of course I have something to ask you. Are you still lost?"
It's Snape!
Harry's breathing was rapid and his heart was racing. He held his breath, Snape's recent whereabouts were too suspicious, and he desperately wanted to know why.
"That's right," Sirius looked sideways into the room, "I thought someone sneaked into my room looking for something..."
"Looking for something?" said Snape's icy voice, with such intense contempt in his tone that Harry could almost imagine his thin lips puckering up like a snake ready to go. Spray venom, "Oh...you mean the bikini pics on the wall?"
Sirius, who was questioning Mr. Snape, froze. He licked his lips, "What did you say?"
"I have to say, you have very unique taste and courage." Snape said in a sarcastic voice, and Sirius blushed. "That's an old photo!" he growled under his breath.
Harry didn't want to hear any more, he backed away, when Snape suddenly appeared at the door, knocking Sirius out of the way, he was surprised to see Harry tiptoeing back.
This moment is extremely embarrassing.
Seconds seem like centuries. Harry froze, and Snape sneered, "Looks like someone has found out about your little secret, Sirius. Will you be oblivious to him?" He strode away.
Harry turned slowly and wanted to go downstairs, "Stop." Sirius said blankly, and Harry faltered, "I didn't hear anything." Sirius couldn't help cursing under his breath In one sentence, I don’t know who I’m scolding, “Come with me.”
Harry entered the room with great courage.
He hadn't officially entered before, at most he knocked on the door and called Sirius to come out for dinner, and he vaguely saw the big bed with carved patterns and velvet curtains. It wasn't until Harry entered that the room was spacious and beautiful.
Sirius sat on the bed angrily, and pointed to the wall behind Harry.
"See for yourself."
Harry turned his head slowly, expecting to see some weird pictures, and he did. Harry was the first to notice the Gryffindor flags on either side of the silver satin walls. They were like the keynote of the entire picture wall, making it easy to tell which house the room belonged to.
Harry secretly applauded.
Then he had to notice a wall full of stickers and photos, Harry blinked, it was different from what he thought, there were a lot of Muggle motorcycle photos on it, the 'bikini' that Snape said There were only a few photographs, of the faded smiles of the girls frozen into yellowed photographs - they were as still as if they had been cut from a Muggle movie poster.
This is what Sirius stuck to the wall when he was in school, Harry realized it, and at the same time he had to admit that Snape was right, Sirius was indeed very courageous...
In addition to these, there are also many pictures of wizards on the wall. Harry was surprised and disturbed to realize that he finally knew where the set of photos Sirius had obtained from the Creevey brothers was hidden. There were dozens of Harry Potter winking at him in front of him.
Harry didn't know which emotion was more in his heart, embarrassment or touch, his eyes were a little sour, and after a while, he found a few different photos:
One is a picture of four Hogwarts students standing together arm in arm. Harry stares at the picture of his father, Sirius, Lupine and of course Peter Pettigrew. smiling happily at the camera;
There is also a photo of Sirius and a young man with his shoulders on his shoulders. Harry knew it was Regulus. They were not very old when they took the photo, and Sirius hadn't run away from home;
The last photo - Harry's breath caught - a dark haired baby flying in and out on a tiny broomstick, giggling, with two legs belonging to a grown man chasing him~IndoMTL .com~ That must be his father, James Potter.
"Lily sent it to me, I found it when I was cleaning the house." Sirius said, pointing to the baby photo, "It was hidden in my motorcycle repair manual, and I almost lost it."
Harry was silent, not knowing what to say.
"I still have a few letters here, written by James and Lily..." Sirius said hesitantly, "I have been hesitating whether to give it to you."
"Of course!" said Harry immediately, looking at Sirius expectantly.
Sirius smiled.
"It may not be the same as what you think... Most of the topics we talked about at that time were related to the war, except for your mother, Lily. She has always had a great enthusiasm for life..." He muttered, and after finishing speaking, he After a short pause, he stood up from the bed, opened the drawer of the bedside table, and took out a stack of letters from it.
Harry stared greedily at the somewhat faded ink marks, wondering how he hadn't thought of it before. But then he remembered that he never seemed to have the habit of keeping Ron and Hermione's letters... He decided to change it immediately, from now on.
"Is James's Invisibility Cloak still in your hand?" Sirius asked suddenly.
"What? Oh, yeah, Headmaster Dumbledore gave it back to me in first year." Harry replied, he didn't know why Sirius asked this question, his full attention was on on those letters. He saw a line of beautiful handwriting, probably written by his mother.
He couldn't wait to pick it up, hoping to feel the warmth of the writer.
Sirius stopped talking and seemed to be out of spirits. He waved his hand, Harry walked towards the outside, he turned his head suddenly at the door, "Well... Sirius, I want to tell you, your taste is actually very good." Before Sirius could reply, he quickly slipped away .
